Sadly, I don't know Pat personally, but I feel like I do. Today I had him on my mind for some unknown reason, so spent longer than I had time to, reading his web site and blog. For years Mr. Conroy has supported various organizations who educate and fight against child neglect and abuse. I had the pleasure of seeing him give a presentation concerning these serious issues. Not only can Pat Conroy write using an immense vocabulary with ease, but even more incredible is that he talks without notes, his in-brain dictionary flowing, his mouth spewing his insight and sense of humor. It is as natural as if he's reading from one of his many excellent books. He is my favorite author.
